Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
  2. Spread cream cheese on each slice.
  3. Roll up the breads tightly.
  4. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
  5. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  6. Dip each roll in the egg mixture, then in the cinnamon sugar.
  7. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  8. Cook the rolls until golden brown on all sides.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with maple syrup.

Notes

  • These roll-ups can also be made a day ahead and reheated in the morning.
  • For added flavor, try adding chocolate chips or nuts inside the cream cheese.
