- 1 cup dried green peas
- 6 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- Rinse the peas and combine them with water in a large pot. Bring to a boil.
- Add the onion, carrots, celery, bay leaf, and thyme. Reduce heat and simmer until the peas are soft.
- Remove the bay leaf and season with salt.
- For the dough boys, mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Gradually add milk until a dough forms.
- Spoon the dough on top of the boiling soup and cover. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the dough is cooked through.
