Ingredients

  • 5 pounds fresh peaches
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the peaches.
  2. In a large pot, combine sugar, vinegar, water, and spices.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add the peaches to the pot and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Pack the peaches into sterilized jars and cover with syrup.
  6. Seal jars and process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
