- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Stir in vanilla and egg.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- In a saucepan, heat caramel candies and heavy cream over low heat until melted. Pour over the batter in the pan.
- Drop remaining batter by spoonfuls over the caramel layer.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into squares.
