Creamy One-Pot Broccoli Cheddar Orzo

A deliciously creamy one-pot dish combining broccoli, cheddar cheese, and turkey bacon with orzo pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped turkey bacon and cook until crispy.
  2. Add the broccoli florets and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the orzo, chicken broth, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer until the orzo is cooked, about 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the milk and cheddar cheese until creamy and combined.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can be made vegetarian by omitting the turkey bacon.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables or protein of your choice.
