Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese

A delicious and rich mac and cheese recipe featuring turkey bacon and chicken ham for an extra layer of flavor.

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup diced chicken ham
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and chop.
  4. In the same pot, melt the butter and whisk in the flour for 1 minute.
  5. Add the milk slowly while whisking until smooth.
  6. Stir in the cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until melted.
  7. Add the macaroni, chopped turkey bacon, and chicken ham, and stir to combine.
  8. Transfer to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add more cheese or milk.
  • Feel free to swap out turkey bacon for regular bacon if preferred.
