- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder for dusting
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick.
- Fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
- Mix the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange them in a single layer in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, followed by another layer of dipped ladyfingers.
- Top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
