Chinese Beef and Broccoli (One Pan Take-Out)

A delicious and easy homemade version of the classic take-out dish, Chinese Beef and Broccoli.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced thin
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute.
  4. Add the broccoli and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and beef broth.
  6. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Feel free to substitute chicken or tofu for the beef.
