Caramelized Onion & Brie Toast Recipe

A delicious and indulgent appetizer featuring sweet caramelized onions and creamy brie on toasted bread.

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, sliced
  • 1 French baguette, sliced
  • Fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and salt, cooking them until they are caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
  3. Stir in the balsamic vinegar and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and top each slice with a piece of brie.
  6. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and bubbly.
  7. Top each toast with the caramelized onions and garnish with fresh thyme before serving.

Notes

  • For added richness, drizzle with a bit of honey.
