  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are nicely golden.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For chewier cookies, try refrigerating the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Use a mix of dark and milk chocolate chips for added flavor.
