- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix brown sugar and butter until smooth. Add egg, molasses, and vanilla, and mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
- Form tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll in powdered sugar.
- Place them in the air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes until they are puffed and cracked.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- For extra spice, add chopped crystallized ginger.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket.
